What is an antigen test?
The antigen test detects antigens, which are proteins of the virus, and allows you to check whether you are currently infected with the new coronavirus. There are two types of antigen tests: qualitative and quantitative, and the simple test kit is a qualitative test.
Although the detection rate (around 95%) of the simple test is lower than that of the PCR test, it does not require any special testing equipment and the results can be obtained in a short period of time, so it is used when a quick determination of infection is necessary.
